Staff Accountant

Entertainment and Production Company | Clayton, MO

STLRecruit's client is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant

will also assist the Controller in multiple areas, such as assisting in the month-end

closing process, posting of accruals, managing the accounts payable process,

processing credit card transactions, and reconciling bank transactions. This role is

crucial in ensuring that all financial transactions are processed accurately and

timely and financial records are updated appropriately for Management. The Staff

Accountant will also assist the Controller with process improvement and

documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of

accounting principles, experience with accounting ERP software, and the ability to

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support month-end close, intercompany transactions, and account reconciliations
  • Process invoices, expense reports, reimbursements, and credit card batches
  • Reconcile bank deposits and resolve discrepancies with credit card processors
  • Enter purchase orders and ensure compliance with contract terms
  • Maintain AP aging reports and assist with monthly accruals
  • Collaborate with the contract management team and provide general support to the Controller and CFO

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 2+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of AP/AR, accruals, and general ledger
  • Experience with Sage/Intacct preferred; proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
