The Staff Accountant will be the right-hand person supporting the Controller. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, a willingness to learn and roll up their sleeves, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of quality.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assists with the month-end closing and reporting process
- Assists in preparing the monthly financial reporting and analysis package
- [Manager two AP clerks] / [Administer accounts payable]
- Prepares and records journal entries, including the month-end closing process entries
- Prepares monthly account reconciliations in support of the financial statements
- Prepares and maintains weekly cash flow forecast.
- Performs variance analyses
- Assists the VP of Finance/Controller in the annual financial audit with external auditors
- Performs ad-hoc reporting and special projects as required
- Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
This position does not require travel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, plus
- 2+ years of accounting experience, OR
- The equivalent combination of education and experience
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Sage Intacct preferred (Construction and Real Estate Software)
