Job Title: Reinsurance Accountant

Location: Sarasota, FL (On-site)

Compensation: $80,000–$90,000

Our client is a growing insurance organization with a strong presence across the U.S. They are seeking a Reinsurance Accountant to join their team at their Sarasota headquarters. This is a high-impact role that provides exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional departments.

• Perform accounting, reconciliation, and reporting for ceded reinsurance programs
• Prepare and analyze reinsurance journal entries, statements, and bordereaux
• Coordinate with actuarial, claims, and underwriting departments to ensure accurate data flow
• Assist with reinsurance recoverable analysis, billing, and collections
• Maintain compliance with statutory and GAAP accounting standards for reinsurance
• Support audit requests and regulatory reporting related to reinsurance
• Participate in projects related to new reinsurance treaties, system upgrades, or process improvements
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2–5 years of experience in reinsurance or insurance accounting (ceded experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting principles
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with reinsurance systems a plus
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
