About The Role

The members of the accounting job family ensure that Cavco’s financial books and records are maintained accurately and timely. They handle the chart of accounts, general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. They also maintain lists of authorized vendors and work directly with external auditors and financial reporting to ensure GAAP and SEC compliance.

The Cost Accountant Manager is a non-degree accountant (accounting degree preferred) supporting operations with transactional accounting and coordinating initiatives for plant operations. This role works independently, executing process steps, analyzing data, solving problems, and providing recommendations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide detailed cost information applying principles of cost accounting.
• Gather data to determine costs of business activities such as raw materials, inventory, and labor.
• Analyze data and document results.
• Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services to determine effects on costs.
• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
• Provide management with reports on factors affecting prices and profitability.
• Support duties for General Manager, Controller, and Purchasing Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 4 years of relevant experience.
• Previous accounting experience desired.
• Proficiency in Excel (medium level).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to interact with all management levels.
• Team player.
