Base pay range

$80,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

Our client, a state-supported organization, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its team in Baltimore, MD. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in financial operations, contribute to meaningful work, and bring fresh ideas to a long-standing department.

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000

Office Situation: 100% onsite for the first 7-12 months, then hybrid schedule (2 days remote/week) potential!

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Audit experience strongly preferred, either in-house or at an audit firm.
• Experience in nonprofit or education accounting is a plus.
• Strong technical skills to prepare clear, audit-friendly documentation.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to modernize and improve processes.
  
  

• Lead accounting functions, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Prepare clear and comprehensive audit workpapers that minimize follow-up from auditors.
• Partner with leadership to ensure compliance and strengthen internal controls.
• Work within both an internal financial system and a state-wide accounting system for reporting and vendor payments.
• Introduce new ideas to help modernize and streamline workflows within the team.
