Job Description and Duties
Under the close supervision of an Accounting Administrator I, the incumbent is responsible for completing duties required for processing statewide travel expenses and other employee claims, resolving travel payment issues and transaction errors, utilizing section databases, electronic spreadsheets, and electronic data upload processes to facilitate timely and accurate payments, and completing expenditure adjustments. In addition, the incumbent serves in a back-up capacity for other travel related accounting functions. The incumbent must utilize a mainframe system as well as personal computer, including database and other software. Regular and punctual attendance is desired.

Working Conditions
Position located at 1820 Alhambra Blvd, Sacramento, Sacramento County. Multiple positions may be filled from this recruitment. This position may be eligible for telework. Telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans evolving policy. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers the designated headquartered location and may be subject to regulations or bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location are the responsibility of the selected candidate.

Desirable Qualifications
Have knowledge of California fund accounting and professional accounting practices. Knowledge of State Administrative Manual, Departmental Accounting Manual, Government Code, and Departmental Travel Policy. Ability to analyze accounting transactions, communicate effectively with vendors and staff, and work with mainframe and PC software.
