Senior Accountant (Project Management)

A senior accountant is a mid-level accounting professional responsible for the full cycle accounting and month-end close of several multi-family residential properties, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting policies and accuracy in financial reporting. The position will work under the supervision of a senior accounting manager.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare accrual basis financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, actual to budget variance reports, and cash flows for eight (8) to twelve (12) multi-family residential communities.
2. Perform property-level accounting month-end close, including posting journal entries, reviewing expenses for appropriate general ledger coding, creating journal entries for accruals, and monthly reconciliation of bank and balance sheet accounts.
3. Facilitate review of budget to actual variance with the property team.
4. Compile monthly financial reporting packages and correspondence for internal and external stakeholders.
5. Prepare year-end reporting for audit, tax, REIT compliance, and benchmarking analysis.
6. Utilize and create spreadsheets in Excel for daily tasks.
7. Collaborate with team members and departments to ensure accurate workflow.
8. Assist with ad hoc requests for financial information and analysis.
9. Ensure compliance by completing all courses on the Learning Management System by due dates.
10. Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and consistent attendance record.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
