About the Position:

IFG is working with a client in the insurance space looking for a Senior Accountant. This Accountant would prepare account reconciliations, aid in monthly, quarterly and yearly close process, and assist with lease accounting in compliance with GAAP.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, including journal entries, accruals balance sheet account reconciliations, and maintenance of corporate accounts
• Assist in lease accounting tasks in coordination with the real estate team.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations as assigned.
• Review P&L against budget and prior year for any miscoded amounts.
• Create correcting reclass journal entries.
• Record bank activity into the general ledger and reconcile transactions in the general ledger
• Complete bank reconciliations, ensuring no reconciling items aged over 30 days.
• Research and analyze data. Run and distribute month-end and ad-hoc reports.

Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent
• Knowledge pf GAAP and its application to day-to-day processes
• 4+ years’ experience in accounting field
• Intermediate to advanced excel skills
• Flexibility of work hours to support close timelines
• Lease accounting experience is a plus
