Base pay

Base pay range: $85,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr

Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for closing Accounts Payable, closing Accounts Receivable, reviewing Payroll accuracy, and assisting with month end close. In addition, the accountant will be responsible for recording assigned transactions in the general ledger in accordance with GAAP, preparing various financial reports, reconciling assigned balance sheet accounts, and preparing various financial reports.

Duties And Responsibilities

Applies principles of accounting in accordance with GAAP standards to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties.

G/L Accountant (75%)

  • Prepare assigned month-end journal entries
  • Perform assigned G/L account reconciliations
  • Verify accuracy of payroll data from ADP Time systems
  • Help prepare uploads of templates to payroll processor
  • Consult with our payroll teams across companies to ensure timely payroll
  • Work with and help process Sales related commission plans and related processing
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Sub-ledger; capitalize assets per policy, book depreciation, prepare roll-forward schedules as required
  • Prepare inter-company transaction and balance reports
  • Prepare and reconcile intercompany billings
  • Assist in the production of error-free accounting and financial reports and present their results
  • Review and modify accounting systems and procedures
  • Manage accounting assistants and payroll processors
  • Interface with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance
  • Support month and year end close process
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
  • Assist with tax audits and preparation of tax return supporting documents

A/P Duties (20%)

  • Supervise A/P and Expense Report Processing
  • Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable
  • 3 Way Match for Materials - Invoice, Receiver & Packing Slip, & PO
  • Blanket PO's (Not to Exceed, for various services and small misc. materials)
  • Oversee/Prepare 1099’s
  • Prepare month end expense accruals

A/R Accountant (5%)

  • Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts receivable
  • Collaborate with Director of Finance, reconciling Finders Fees and other A/R related items

Job Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong computer skills including extensive excel experience including vlookups, pivot tables, databases, and functions; working knowledge of MS programs
  • Experienced with NetSuite ERP or similar accounting system
  • Experienced with inventory reconciliations, roll forwards and financial accounting impact of sales and inventory related transactions.
  • Experienced with ADP payroll systems
  • Ability to do research, solve problems and perform analysis
  • Strong aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills; excellent analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy with transactional orientation
  • Strong critical thinking skills; ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and meet deadlines, maintain a flexible attitude and approach towards assignments, and maintain level of organization in a changing and fast paced environment
  • Strong presentation as well as oral and written communication skills

Education And Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in accounting
