We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant oversees general accounting functions, provides monthly financial analysis and reports to leadership and department heads, leads the capital requisition process, and guides the annual audit process. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, preferably with a CPA designation and knowledge of tax regulations. Ability to improve processes for efficiency is essential.

Job Duties include:

• Lead monthly close process, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.
• Prepare and review general ledger entries.
• Perform reconciliations of accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Manage sales and use tax returns.
• Oversee capital expenditure requests and construction reporting.
• Collaborate with departments for reports and insights.
• Participate in special projects and maintain financial systems and policies.
• Coordinate annual audits with external auditors.
• Participate in church events like Christmas and Easter.
• Be available for occasional after-hours or weekend work.

Education and Licenses: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.

Work Experience:

• 5-7 years in accounting or audit, preferably in church or ministry organizations.
• Knowledge of tax compliance beneficial.
• Proficiency in accounting software; Sage Intacct and Prophix experience a plus.
• Detail-oriented with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Collaborative team player.
• Proven process improvement skills.
