Overview

Strategic Security (SSC) is a nationwide provider of security guard services, executive protection, bomb dog, intelligence, consulting, investigative services. As an Armed Security Officer, you will perform duties within an armed capacity.

Duties

  • Office Security
  • Arrive punctually and patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and to secure doors, windows, and interior areas.
  • Answer and investigate disturbances. Contact law enforcement or fire departments in emergencies, reporting to Office Manager(s) immediately as required.
  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and others to guard against theft, vandalism, incidents and maintain security of premises.
  • Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, or unusual occurrences.
  • Conduct regular patrols to ensure safety and detect unusual activities.
  • Ensure security equipment (alarms, cameras, security wands) is functioning properly.
  • Respond promptly to security alarms and incidents following established protocols.
  • Maintain a log of security-related activities and incidents for daily sharing with office management.
  • Crowd Control
  • Warn persons of rule infractions and take appropriate measures to protect staff and the facility.
  • Manage the flow of people entering and exiting the premises, including circulation among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
  • Verify entry procedures, including sign-in and identification for visitors.
  • Prevent overcrowding by directing visitors to appropriate waiting areas.
  • Assist in coordinating evacuations and emergency responses, ensuring safe and orderly movement of people.
  • Customer Interaction
  • Greet customers and assist with general inquiries, directing to appropriate staff for program-specific information.
  • Direct customers to division staff for assistance and address specific customer needs to ensure smooth communication.
  • Liaison Duties
  • Notify Operations team of tardies and absences.
  • Maintain clear communication with division staff to promptly address customer needs and security concerns.
  • Report security issues or unusual activities to appropriate staff immediately.
  • Ensure visitors adhere to office policies and procedures.
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay updated on security protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Collaborate with other security personnel and staff to maintain a safe environment.

Education, Licenses And Certifications Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • State licensing test if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle
  • State Licensed Unarmed Security Guard Card / License if required by local jurisdiction

Experience

  • Verifiable work history; one or more of the following: graduate of an accredited high school or GED; or 1 year of security officer experience preferred

Other Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old (or the state minimum)
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to operate radio/telephone equipment
  • Ability to interact cordially with the public; engage in rapport-building
  • Good judgment, integrity, initiative, resourcefulness
  • Willingness to work with minimal supervision
  • Subject to a drug screen where permitted by law
  • DD214 discharge document may be required upon offer if prior military service

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment: Indoor and outdoor with temperature variations; major activities include walking, standing, speaking, listening, and observing; physical duties involve standing, walking, and sitting with minimal stooping or kneeling.
