UNARMED SECURITY GUARD role at Strategic Security Corporation (SSC).

Strategic Security (SSC) is a nationwide provider of security guard services, executive protection, and related services. This description outlines the duties, qualifications, and benefits for full-time Security Officer positions.

Responsibilities

• Office Security: Arrive punctually, patrol premises, monitor entrances, investigate disturbances, and maintain security of doors, windows, and interior. Document daily activities and irregularities; report to office management daily. Ensure security equipment is functioning and respond promptly to alarms following established protocols.
• Crowd Control: Manage the flow of people, ensure proper entry procedures, prevent overcrowding, and assist in evacuations and emergency responses.
• Customer Interaction: Greet customers, direct inquiries to the appropriate staff, and ensure smooth communication between customers and staff.
• Liaison Duties: Notify Operations of tardies/absences; maintain clear communication with division staff; report security issues or unusual activities immediately; ensure visitors adhere to policies.
• Additional Responsibilities: Participate in ongoing training and collaborate with security personnel and office staff to maintain a safe environment.

Qualifications

Education, Licenses And Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Pass state licensing tests if driving company-owned or client-provided vehicles. Possess a state Unarmed Security Guard Card/License if required by jurisdiction.

Experience: Verifiable work history. One year of security officer experience strongly preferred.

Skills: Ability to follow orders; proficient with Microsoft Office; strong verbal and written communication; active listening; situational assessment; quick identification of critical issues; attention to detail.

Other: Must be at least 18 years old (or legal minimum by state), U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work, able to operate radio/console, able to interact cordially with the public, professional demeanor, integrity, initiative, resourcefulness, positive handling of challenging situations; drug screen as permitted by law; may be required to provide a DD214 if previously in the military.
