Campus Security Guard Job at Cleary University in Howell

Under general supervision, to patrol campus building, facilities and grounds; observe, report and investigate incidents and suspicious activities, ensuring the security and safety of property and person and to perform related duties. This position is a NIGHT SHIFT.

JOB RESPONSBILITIES:

• Patrol the campus grounds, buildings and facilities during an assigned shift, following an established route; ensure the security and safety of property and persons; patrols on foot as well by vehicle.
• Identities intruders, recognizes safety violations and controls assess to the campus.
• Ensures that all doors and gates are locked after the close of business activities; arms and disarms security alarms; locks and unlocks buildings and facilities; identifies malfunctioning locks and calls locksmith.
• Maintains logs and records and prepares incident reports.
• Completes monthly checks on fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, campus emergency phones and AEDS.

• Must possess a valid Michigan drivers license and have a satisfactory driving record; must be willing to work nights and willing to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• First Aid & CPR Certified

• Previous work experience in a University public safety/security department preferred
• 3 to 5 years of experience preferred in a public/campus safety position
