Position: ESL Teacher
Location: Chester, PA
Position Type: Full-Time

pays up to $55

Position Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated ESL Teacher to join our team and support English Language Learners in Grades 7 and 8. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of second language acquisition and be committed to guiding students' academic and language development. This role involves close collaboration with school staff and families to ensure student success and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a liaison between ESL students, school staff, and families

  • Recommend student placement and exit from ESL programs based on established criteria

  • Administer state-mandated language proficiency assessments

  • Track student progress and maintain accurate, up-to-date records

  • Plan and deliver engaging ESL lessons using research-based strategies

  • Adapt learning materials to meet the needs of English learners

  • Collaborate with general education teachers for instructional planning and support

  • Communicate regularly with families about student growth and achievement

  • Participate in curriculum reviews and professional development opportunities

  • Support broader school initiatives and fulfill additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education

  • Valid ESL Program Specialist Certificate (PK–12)

  • Familiarity with Pennsylvania ESL/ELL regulations

  • Required clearances:

    • TB and Physical Test

    • Child Abuse Clearance

    • FBI Fingerprint Clearance from Dept of Education

Preferred Knowledge & Skills:
  • Prior experience teaching ESL/ELL students

  • Familiarity with educational frameworks such as RTII, PBIS, and InTASC standards

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills

  • Ability to differentiate instruction and integrate educational technology into lessons
