Resident Teacher
Location: Plainfield, NJ 07060
Rate: $50 to $55 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, academic year
Certification Required:

• Must hold a valid New Jersey teaching certificate or be actively enrolled in an alternate route certification program

• Must hold a valid substitute teaching certificate to begin the position

• Attend all professional development sessions with instructional staff

• Take responsibility for student achievement by providing instruction tailored to scholars’ needs

• Communicate and reinforce high behavioral expectations consistently

• Manage instructional time effectively, maximizing every minute

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student performance and attendance records

• Plan lessons using the provided curriculum

• Provide feedback to teachers and administrators regarding student progress and needs

• Deliver classroom instruction including whole-group lessons and small-group activities such as guided reading and technology literacy

Candidate Requirements

• Holds a valid NJ teaching certificate or is actively enrolled in an alternate certification program

• Holds a valid substitute teaching certificate at the start of the position

Working Conditions

• Exposure to temperature variations and wet conditions

• Walking and working on uneven and slippery surfaces
