Liberty Christian School is looking to fill three positions in secondary grades: Math and Science (MS Science; HS Science; HS Math).
The teacher shall prayerfully help students develop attitudes, skills, and subject matter that contribute to their growth as mature, responsible Christian men and women, to the praise and glory of God.
| Qualifications |
The teacher shall be a born-again Christian, a member of an evangelical church, and demonstrate spiritual maturity, academic ability, and leadership skills consistent with training children in the Lord. A college degree and ACSI certification or eligibility are required. Other qualifications may be added by the Board.
| Responsibilities |
Spiritual:
- Model a consistent walk with Jesus Christ in attitude, speech, and actions.
- Promote Scripture memorization, prayer, witnessing, and Christian fellowship.
- Follow Matthew 18 in dealings with students, parents, staff, and administration.
- Encourage students to accept salvation and grow in faith.
- Help students realize their worth in Christ.
Instructional:
- Recognize parents' primary role in education and support them.
- Teach assigned classes following the curriculum and schedule.
- Plan using semester and quarterly goals, utilizing Plan Book software.
- Incorporate Biblical principles throughout the curriculum.
- Employ effective teaching techniques to achieve mastery and curriculum goals.
- Design programs that meet students' individual needs and abilities.
- Use diverse instructional aids and methods for holistic development.
- Plan field trips, guest speakers, and media use appropriately.
- Assign homework for practice and enrichment.
- Assess student progress regularly and communicate reports.
- Maintain classroom discipline and prepare for substitutes when needed.
Non-Instructional:
- Implement school policies and cooperate with administration.
- Maintain accurate attendance and grades.
- Keep families and administration informed of progress.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom.
- Supervise extracurricular activities and support school events.
Professional:
- Engage in professional growth opportunities.
- Seek counsel and collaborate with colleagues and parents.
- Participate in school meetings and activities.
- Handle emergencies appropriately.
- Contribute to school improvement.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Personal:
- Display character qualities such as enthusiasm, integrity, kindness, and punctuality.
- Manage stress with emotional stability.
- Build rapport with students, parents, and staff.
