Responsibilities

• Safe, accurate, and timely delivery of material to customers.


• Provide superior customer service with a positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile to meet customer needs.


• Pick up customer returns as needed and maintain an accurate log of all material.


• Perform daily truck inspections and complete the daily DOT (Department of Transportation) log.


• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, fuel the truck as needed, and immediately report any problems or issues to the warehouse manager.


• Comply with all DOT standards and regulations.


• Keep trucks accessible, clean, organized, and safe.


• Ensure all necessary safety equipment is readily accessible (helmets, gloves, goggles, vests, or safety-colored shirts).


• Wear proper safety equipment as outlined in the Employee Handbook.


• Maintain proper license endorsements and a clean driving record.

Competencies

• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.


• Product knowledge or the ability to learn quickly.


• General computer skills.


• Strong communication and customer service skills.


• Time management.

Work Environment

This position spends most of the time on the road and on jobsites, with some time in the warehouse. The role routinely uses standard office equipment and warehouse tools. Staff must be physically able to lift and move material as needed.

Education & Experience

Education: High school diploma/GED required.

Experience: Three to five years of previous driving experience required. Must have a clean and safe driving record, minimum Class F license endorsement and medical card. Class B CDL preferred. Forklift training required.

Physical Requirements

• Lift/carry/push/pull heavy material or equipment (up to 75 lbs).


• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in hot, cold, rainy, and snowy conditions.


• Climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle and feel.


• Climb a 12-foot ladder.


• Complete required assessments such as the Caliper test to demonstrate competencies.
