Caregiver - PRN Open

As a Caregiver you are responsible for providing caring and personal assistance to clients. The Caregiver will report to the Home Care Director.

Required Experience for Caregiver:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous Healthcare, Geriatrics or experience working with the elderly population preferred
  • Nurse Aide or In Home Aide preferred
  • Ability to apply understanding to carry out written instructions as given by Leadership

Accountability for Caregiver:

  • Timely & Accountable Attendance: Upholding work schedules, being ready to start work on time and remaining on the job for the whole duration of shift
  • Care Standards for clients: Understanding and leading our care standards so you and your team ensure that each client has their needs met
  • Communicate client changes immediately: Providing timely and detailed information to your Home Care Director regarding any changes to a client's needs or care
  • Responsible communication with clients: Communicates messages tactfully and timely while ensuring the message has been received and understood

Responsibilities for Caregiver:

  • Actively supports our culture our pillars and Care standards
  • Completion of daily/weekly tasks assigned by the Director, as well as assisting others routinely with their assignments if needed
  • Will provide compassionate and competent care for clients by performing the following services:
    • Bathing, showering and grooming assistance
    • Assist clients with dining
    • Provides wheelchair and walking escorts
    • Provides toileting and light incontinence care assistance
    • Assistance with morning and bedtime routines
    • Provide medication reminders
    • Provide companion sitting, if applicable
  • Completes and documents appropriate records
  • Works scheduled shift but also provides flexibility and is open to helping other shifts as needed
  • Maintains knowledge of all safety and emergency procedures.
  • Is knowledgeable of and abides by all company policies and procedures
  • Communicates any concerns regarding client care, treatment, or changes in behavior to the appropriate person
  • Attends staff meetings, in-service programs, safety courses, and other required meetings
  • Stay up to date and knowledgeable of all departmental communication.

This position entails standing for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Occasional travel to different locations may be required.
