As a Caregiver, you are responsible for providing caring and personal assistance to clients. The Caregiver will report to the Home Care Director.
Required Experience for Caregiver:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous Healthcare, Geriatrics, or experience working with the elderly population preferred.
- Nurse Aide or In-Home Aide preferred.
- Ability to understand and carry out written instructions as given by Leadership.
Accountability for Caregiver:
- Timely & accountable attendance: Upholding work schedules, being ready to start work on time, and remaining on the job for the entire shift.
- Care standards for clients: Understanding and leading our care standards to ensure client needs are met.
- Communicate client changes immediately: Providing timely and detailed information to your Home Care Director regarding any changes in client needs or care.
- Responsible communication with clients: Communicating messages tactfully and timely, ensuring messages are received and understood.
Responsibilities for Caregiver:
- Support our culture, pillars, and care standards.
- Complete daily/weekly tasks assigned by the Director and assist others with their tasks if needed.
- Provide compassionate and competent care, including:
- Bathing, showering, and grooming assistance.
- Assisting clients with dining.
- Providing wheelchair and walking escorts.
- Providing toileting and light incontinence care assistance.
- Assisting with morning and bedtime routines.
- Providing medication reminders.
- Providing companionship sitting, if applicable.
- Complete and document appropriate records.
- Work scheduled shifts with flexibility to help other shifts as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of safety and emergency procedures.
- Abide by all company policies and procedures.
- Communicate concerns regarding client care or behavior changes to the appropriate person.
- Attend staff meetings, in-service programs, safety courses, and other required meetings.
- Stay updated with departmental communication.

General Working Conditions:
The physical demands include standing for long periods, effective communication, sitting, standing, walking, and using hands for handling objects. Occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. The environment involves moderate noise, with occasional travel to different locations. Safety procedures must be followed.
