Position Summary:
As a Caregiver, you are responsible for providing caring and personalized assistance for residents living in our community.
Required Experience for Caregiver:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous Healthcare, Geriatrics or experience working with the elderly population preferred.
- Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) Certification preferred.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Accountabilities for Caregiver:
- Timely & accountable attendance: Upholding work schedules, being ready to start work on time, remaining on the job for the whole shift, and limited use of time off.
- Provide 1440 care standards to ensure residents and families' needs are met.
- Communicate resident changes immediately to your Wellness Leader.
- Communicate with families tactfully and timely, ensuring messages are received and understood.
- Build strong community relationships with peers, families, residents, and leaders.
Responsibilities for Caregiver:
- Support our culture, pillars, and 1440 standards.
- Complete daily/weekly tasks assigned by the Wellness Coordinator and assist others as needed.
- Provide compassionate and competent care, including:
- Bathing, showering, and grooming assistance
- Assist residents with dining
- Provide wheelchair and walking escorts
- Assist with toileting and incontinence care
- Assist with morning and bedtime routines
- Perform light upkeep of resident rooms
- Respond to resident call signals
- Assist with medication and personal care, including medication administration, in Assisted Living and Memory Care settings.
- Complete and document records accurately.
- Work scheduled shifts and provide flexibility to help other shifts if needed.
- Maintain knowledge of safety and emergency procedures.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Report concerns regarding resident care or behavior changes.
- Attend staff meetings, in-service programs, and safety courses.
- Stay updated with departmental communications.
General Working Conditions:
This position involves standing for long periods, effective communication, and handling equipment and objects. Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English. Occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds, bend, reach, grasp, climb, squat, and kneel. The work environment has moderate noise, and occasional travel may be required.
