Position Overview and Responsibilities

Sr. Maintenance Mechanic Electrician II

Salary: $85,000 to $93,600 annually

The Sr. Maintenance Mechanic Electrician II performs skilled work in installation, operation, maintenance, modification, service, and repair of facilities electrical support safety equipment and elevator systems. The role includes preventive maintenance based on manufacturer recommendations and the facilities' computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Maintains accurate records and ensures availability of spare parts.

Essential Duties

  • Inspect and test facility systems to locate faults and malfunctions.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure systems operate to prescribed standards.
  • Troubleshoot and repair systems using hand tools and testing devices.
  • Estimate repair or replacement costs when beyond scope of work.
  • Perform repairs following work orders or instructions, including planning, assembly, and installation.
  • Handle basic electrical work, including replacing switches, sockets, wiring, and fixtures.
  • Advise on planning and oversee large projects, coordinating resources and activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Valid driver’s license for operating mission vehicles.
  • Knowledge of safety hazards and compliance with safety standards.
  • Project management proficiency to meet operational requirements.
  • Understanding of maintenance management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of regulations for equipment, personnel, and supplies supporting embassy operations.
  • Decisiveness, effective communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under stress and tight deadlines in a team environment.

Level-specific qualifications include:

  • Master Electrician: Ability to install, repair, and maintain electrical systems following safety codes and standards.
  • Level I: 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Level II: 8+ years of relevant experience.
