Electrician role at Schuff Steel. Employee Value Proposition: Working for a world-class leader in building structures and bridges, a Schuff Steel Electrician brings expertise in electrical maintenance to install electrical power and provide preventative maintenance on heavy machinery and facility equipment. Critical to the production process, this position repairs and maintains heavy fabrication equipment and performs necessary maintenance and repairs to various machines within the facility. The electrician utilizes a high degree of proficiency and full trade skills, including knowledge of commercial electrical codes. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily.

Responsibilities
- Able to provide support for new equipment.
- Provide documentation on work completed.
- Maintain an inventory of parts to minimize downtime.
- Repair and maintain Motor and Control systems, and Hydraulic and Pneumatics.
- Analyze problems and develop cost-effective solutions.
- Familiar with OSHA, EPA requirements, and Local codes.
- Install electrical components, provide wiring to panels, bus plugs, conductors, boxes and machinery.
- Ensure building compliance with codes and safety regulations.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical components of machinery.
- Keep work area organized and clean.
- Perform other routine duties per management direction.
- Adhere to all safety rules and PPE requirements.
Qualifications
Education/Training - Work Experience
High school diploma or GED, and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specialized Knowledge – Certificates & Licenses
- Equipment knowledge and skills – may include various shop hand tools and electrical repair equipment
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and repair orders for documentation of completed tasks and future upgrades.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic, rates, ratios, and percent; ability to interpret graphs.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense and follow instructions; ability to handle problems with several variables in standardized situations.
