Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative is seeking a dedicated and skilled electrician to join our team primarily at Tyndall Air Force Base. The main responsibilities include installing and maintaining lighting systems at Tyndall Air Force Base, installing H2O plus devices, and assisting line technicians as needed.

The core duties of the electrician include:

• Performing construction and maintenance on electric distribution systems as required.
• Identifying materials necessary for construction and maintenance tasks.
• Understanding construction specifications and requirements for each project.
• Performing groundwork as directed.
• Connecting wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Testing electrical systems and circuits for safety and functionality using appropriate testing devices.
• Inspecting electrical systems and components for hazards, defects, or compliance issues.
• Proactively identifying safety issues in property, equipment, or systems.
• Operating specialized shop and field equipment.
• Monitoring equipment and environmental conditions to ensure proper functioning.
• Inspecting water distribution systems for damages or hazards and reporting findings.
• Conducting daily inspections, servicing, and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Performing maintenance and repairs on tools and equipment.
• Assisting line technicians with right-of-way work, pole construction/removal, transformer repair/replacement, and maintaining electric lines and structures.
• Operating vehicles and equipment, performing ground work on electrical systems.
• Following safety procedures as per GCEC, Electric Safety Code, and OSHA standards.
• Reporting maintenance needs or concerns to supervisors.
• Participating in emergency outages, after-hours work, and responding to outages to assist line crews.
• Performing routine line work, underground and overhead construction, and electrical services on primary, secondary, and three-phase lines.
• Installing and removing meters, transformers, and other line equipment.
