QUALIFICATIONS: Must have knowledge of electrical terms and materials, circuits used in buildings, single and polyphase motors, electric equipment, kitchen and refrigeration equipment, portable hand tools, and the ability to maintain, repair, and install such circuits. Knowledge of the National Electric Code and the Electrical Safety Order of California is required.
Must possess the skills to perform journeyman electrical maintenance, repair, and construction activities effectively. Ability to establish and maintain logs and records, prepare reports, identify problems quickly, and resolve issues is essential. Maintain inventory at appropriate levels, communicate effectively in oral and written forms, and establish good work relationships.
Ability to install, maintain, inspect, and repair electrical systems including conduit and duct systems, lighting, power circuits, motors, generators, transformers, control equipment, switches, and fixtures. Capable of wiring new and altered buildings, assembling and testing lighting fixtures, and reading blueprints and specifications.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Minimum of five years of experience as a journeyman electrician. Graduation from a state-certified school is preferred. Must be able to read, write, and perform math calculations necessary for the role.
Applicants must submit copies of their certificates with their application. Must possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license and submit a current driving record.
The successful candidate will be trained and responsible for handling asbestos, lead paint, and hazardous materials. Ability to pass written and hands-on pre-employment exams, a criminal history check, and a medical assessment is required.

DUTIES: Perform skilled work in the repair, alteration, construction, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment under general supervision.
STARTING SALARY: $7,266.13 - $7,601.21, based on experience.
WORK SCHEDULE: 12 months, 8 hours daily, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
