Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, including motors, lighting, switchgear, transformers, and VFDs
- Diagnose and repair high- and low-voltage systems using tools such as multimeters, ammeters, infrared cameras, and megohm meters
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, single-line diagrams, and technical manuals
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance to optimize system performance and uptime
- Work with PLCs, HMIs, relay logic, and automation control systems
- Support capital projects involving new equipment installation and infrastructure upgrades
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and internal safety standards
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and system modifications
- Mentor apprentices and assist with on-the-job electrical training
Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or heavy industrial setting
Education & Licensing:
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a certified electrical apprenticeship program
- Valid journeyman electrician license or certification preferred
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in interpreting blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Experience with VFDs, PLCs, and automation systems
- Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and OSHA regulations
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
