Journeyman Electrician – Industrial (Rocky Mount, NC to Central Virginia Region)

Quality “Plus” Services is seeking an experienced and licensed Journeyman Electrician to join our team, supporting project sites from Rocky Mount, NC through Central Virginia. This role focuses on installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in industrial environments such as manufacturing plants, factories, and power facilities.
Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems, including motors, transformers, generators, switchgear, and control systems.
Troubleshoot high-voltage and complex systems such as motor controls, PLCs, and VFDs using advanced testing equipment.
Perform system upgrades and modifications, interpreting blueprints and schematics to ensure proper design and compliance.
Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical panels, motors, and power distribution systems to minimize downtime.
Ensure all work meets NEC, OSHA, and safety standards, including proper use of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and helpers, ensuring safe and efficient work practices.
Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to support plant efficiency and reliability.
Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, repairs, and system performance.
Qualifications
Valid Journeyman Electrician license (Virginia or reciprocal state).
3–5+ years of industrial electrical experience (installation, maintenance, troubleshooting).
Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program.
Strong knowledge of motor controls, high-voltage systems, PLCs, and VFDs.
Skilled in reading electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Familiarity with NEC, OSHA, NFPA 70E, and industrial safety protocols.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varied environments (heights, confined spaces, hot/cold conditions).
Willingness to work overtime, night shifts, or weekends as required.
