Commercial Electrician Skills:
- Trained and licensed professional specializing:
- in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial buildings, such as office parks, shopping centers, schools, hospitals, hotels, and industrial facilities.
Job Responsibilities:
- To ensure that all electrical systems are safe, efficient, and compliant with local, state, and national codes and regulations.
- To install, maintaing and repair electrical systems and components like lighting fixtures, power outlets, electrical panels, transformers, generators, and control systems.
- Installing conduit systems, pulling wires through conduits, terminating electrical panels, and setting up emergency lighting and lighting control systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance, respond to service calls, and conduct inspections to identify potential hazards or defects.
- Responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical problems using test equipment such as volt meters, meggers, and circuit tracers.
- Should be able to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to understand project requirements and ensure accurate installation and compliance.
- Knowledge of hand and power tools, including wire cutters, saws, ladders, and scaffolds, often working in confined spaces or at heights.
- The work can be physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift heavy equipment, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and spend long hours on the job site.
- Have the ability to collaborate with other tradespeople, contractors, and project managers to complete projects on time and
Education
- Journeyman Electrician must have passed a state journeyman electrician exam to become licensed and carry a Journeyman certificate.
- Commercial Electrician must have 3 + years of commercial electrical construction experience.
- OSHA-10 is required.
