Job Title: Electrician Specialist

Department: Maintenance/Facilities/Construction

Reports To: Electrical Supervisor/Project Manager

Pay: Starting at $27 per hour, commensurate with experience

Job Summary:

As an Electrician Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of electrical systems and equipment. Your tasks will include installing, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of systems while following electrical blueprints and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Install and maintain various electrical systems including wiring, fixtures, and control devices.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot diverse electrical malfunctions.
  • Repair or replace defective electrical components and wiring.
  • Assist with the installation of new electrical machinery, ensuring proper functionality.
  • Effectively read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Utilize electrical testing equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Keep accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with other trades and teams to schedule electrical work with minimal disruptions.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Monitor system performance, aiming to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of electrical maintenance programs.
  • Respond promptly to emergency electrical requests and perform unscheduled repairs as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience as an Electrician.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems and components.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting electrical documents.
  • Familiarity with various electrical equipment and tools.
  • Adept at using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing devices.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical stamina for lifting and performing tasks in varied positions.

Education and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a certified electrician program or apprenticeship.
  • Journeyman electrician license is mandatory.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA) are advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to lift and/or move heavy objects as needed.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in various positions including bending or crouching.
  • Willingness to work in potentially noisy and hot environments.
  • Proficient hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity are essential.

Working Conditions:

  • Work may take place indoors or outdoors.
  • Exposure to electrical hazards and noise may be present.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and gloves will be required.
  • Availability for overtime or weekend work as needed.
