The HR Generalist serves as a strategic partner to business leaders and employees and plays a vital role in aligning HR initiatives with business objectives, driving strategies, and fostering a positive work culture. They are responsible for providing comprehensive support in various HR functions, including employee relations, onboarding, policy implementation, performance management, and compliance with employment laws. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees and managers, ensuring HR programs and initiatives are effectively delivered and aligned with organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns, providing timely and effective guidance.
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
- Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations to manager and resolve employee relations issues.
- Support performance management processes, including coaching and documentation guidance.
- Conduct exit interviews and identify trends to inform retention strategies.
- Coordinate background checks and employment verifications.
- Conduct new hire orientation sessions and support new hire integration.
- Partner with hiring managers to ensure smooth onboarding experiences.
- Support daily HR operations.
- Coordinate employee lifecycle processes.
- Maintain HRIS data accuracy and manage personnel records.
- Assist with the administration of company-wide or leadership initiatives (e.g., trainings).
- Track and report on compliance training, certifications, and required documentation (e.g., I-9s, handbook acknowledgments.
- Support ad-hoc projects and initiatives.
- Manage all offboarding logistics, including termination paperwork, final pay coordination, and system access removal in partnership with IT and payroll.
- Conduct exit interviews to capture feedback, identify trends, and escalate concerns when necessary.
- Track and report on exit data to support turnover analysis and retention strategies.
- Support involuntary terminations by partnering with managers to ensure respectful, compliant, and well-documented separation processes.
- Maintain accurate and secure documentation of separation activities and outcomes.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 3-5 years of HR Generalist experience, please note this is a junior level role
- HRIS experience
- Experience supporting multi-state employees or a remote/distributed workforce.
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
Preferred Qualifications: (not needed if internal)
- PEO Experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work with sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- SHRM/PHR Certifications
Total earnings may also include various incentive options. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, education, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
