Overview

Position Summary: The Human Resources Partner provides consultation and support to assigned Library leadership, branch managers, department managers, and staff in the following areas: talent acquisition, employee relations, talent and performance management, staff engagement, coaching and development, organizational development, workforce planning, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Provides Human Resources-related guidance and assistance to Library leadership, managers, and supervisors.
  • Communicates with staff and leaders regarding staffing issues or concerns.
  • Conducts internal investigations regarding discrimination, sexual harassment, and various other employee issues and concerns.
  • Observes staff activities and performance and provide ongoing performance-related feedback to help leaders manage staff performance appropriately.
  • Recruits, interviews, and hires qualified and diverse candidates who help the Library meet its strategic objectives and organizational priorities.
  • Educates and trains managers and supervisors on interviewing/hiring skills, employee relations, and employee coaching and performance management skills.
  • Assists in facilitating staff orientation and development programs as needed.
  • Leads special Human Resources projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Supports and advances the Librarys mission of connecting people with the world of ideas and information.
  • Embraces and embodies the Librarys core beliefs, strategic priorities and pillars of excellence.

Qualifications
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or relevant discipline is preferred.
  • Certifications or licensure: PHR, SPHR, SHRM CP, or SHRM SCP is preferred. A drivers license and a driving record acceptable to the Librarys insurance provider are required.
  • Years of relevant experience: Two or more years is required. Human Resources experience in the public sector is preferred.
  • Years of experience supervising: None.

  • Hours: 40 Hours per week, may include occasional evenings and weekends
  • Salary: Grade 9: starting at $59,425.60 + based on experience
  • Deadline: September 2, 2025
