Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field with 8-10 years progressive experience, including experience in a management capacity. Requires excellent communication skills; both written and verbal. Knowledge of ADP Vantage / Workforce Manager and Microsoft Office. SPHR or PHR Certification preferred. Travel requirement 5%.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Working closely with the OCSC, ACSC, and SEWS Canada teams to deliver HR expertise and problem-solving while administering corporate policies and procedures as they relate to core HR services, processes and programs. The Human Resources Manager is expected to assess and anticipate HR related issues, provide strategic support/perspectives regarding Business Unit objectives, and communicate needs proactively inside the department and with members of the management team.

  • Serve as a Business Partner by providing counsel and advice to the management team on work related issues to ensure labor effectiveness and ensure fair and consistent application of policies and procedures.
  • Supervises, coordinates and directs the Human Resources Department to ensure that a high level of customer service is provided.
  • Oversees and ensures compliance with Federal and State laws such as OSHA, EEOC, Workers Comp, Unemployment, FMLA, ADA, etc. Manages compliance with Ontario employment standards, statutory leaves of absence, disability accommodations, etc.
  • Oversees company and associate activities including Wellness program. Recommends new associate relations programs to promote a positive work environment and enhance associate morale. Promotes SEWS as a good community neighbor. Assists management with associate relations and performance issues.
  • In cooperation with Corporate General Affairs & Human Resources: administers corporate wide programs including compensation, benefits, CIA suggestion program, performance management and succession planning.
  • Oversees recruiting and retention efforts for OCSC, ACSC, and SEWS Canada as well as immigration and work visas for areas of responsibility.
  • Oversees weekly hourly payroll and biweekly salaried payroll processing / recordkeeping as well as Canada biweekly payroll and benefits administration.
  • Leads assigned Human Resources Development projects. Strategic support to Business Unit Sr. Management to assist with implementation of goals and initiatives.
  • Works in coordination with Corporate Safety as well as OCSC / ACSC and CCSC Management to maintain workplace safety. Serves as a member of the Safety & Health Committees for the OCSC and CCSC locations.
  • Other Duties as assigned
