Summary:
The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for supporting a variety of key HR functions, including payroll processing, recruiting, onboarding, and administrative coordination. This role plays a critical part in ensuring seamless day-to-day operations within the HR department and delivering a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing
- Prepare and process biweekly or monthly payroll in coordination with the finance/payroll team
- Maintain employee timekeeping records, PTO tracking, and ensure accuracy of hours worked
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Ensure compliance with applicable wage and hour laws and internal payroll procedures.
Recruitment Support:
- Post job openings on internal and external job boards and monitor applicant flow.
- Screen applications, coordinate interviews, and communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process.
- Assist hiring managers with scheduling interviews and preparing interview materials.
- Initiate background checks, employment verifications, and pre-employment processes.
Onboarding & Offboarding:
- Facilitate the onboarding process.
- Ensure all new hire documentation is completed and filed accurately.
- Coordinate offboarding tasks including exit interviews, final pay, and access removal.
General HR Coordination:
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries and direct employees to appropriate resources.
- Maintain and update employee files and HR databases, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist in maintaining HR policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
- Support benefits administration by answering employee questions and assisting with enrollments/changes.
- Help coordinate employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and internal communications.
- Prepare HR reports, track metrics, and assist with audits or data requests as needed.
- Ensure confidentiality and integrity of employee information and company data.
- Support other HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of HR experience, including payroll and recruiting responsibilities.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Paylocity, UKG) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles and practices, and relevant labor laws.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Requirements:
- Position is primarily based in an office setting with frequent interactions in the warehouse.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
- Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
