What You’ll Be Doing
We are seeking a dynamic, highly organized, and proactive HR Generalist to join our fast-paced corporate team. This role requires exceptional multitasking skills, a strong sense of urgency, and a service-oriented mindset to respond to internal employee and leadership needs promptly.
This position plays a key role in the day-to-day administration of core HR functions including benefits and payroll administration, employee engagement, compliance, onboarding/offboarding, and wellness initiatives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and committed to delivering a high-quality employee experience.
How You’ll Make An Impact
HR Operations & Administration
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees on HR-related matters.
- Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, including performance appraisals, performance improvement plans, investigations, terminations, and document outcomes in line with HR best practices.
- Manage daily payroll and benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries.
- Maintain accurate and compliant employee records, files, and systems (e.g., SharePoint, intranet, I-9, benefits, payroll, time and attendance).
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all HR compliance activities (e.g., Sexual Harassment Training, Annual Notices).
- Research and present recommendations on HR trends, tools, and best practices to improve department efficiency and employee experience.
- Handle unemployment claims ensuring timely responses and compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Collaborate to manage the FMLA, ADA, and state/local leave processes, from initial leave notice to return to work. Responsibilities include gathering and completing paperwork, determining eligibility, designating FMLA leave, requesting medical certification, and tracking intermittent or reduced schedule leave.
- Coordinate and support wellness activities and engagement events such as Lunch & Learns, wellness campaigns, and cultural celebrations.
- Prepare and present presentations as needed.
- Maintain and execute annual employee engagement and wellness calendar.
- Assist in the planning and execution of the annual employee engagement survey.
- Support key HR processes including Open Enrollment, performance appraisals, and policy updates (e.g., Employee Handbook and state supplements).
- Monitor and help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Partner with vendors to manage benefit offerings and relationships effectively.
- Contribute to development, review, and rollout of HR policies and procedures.
- Assign learning management system training modules to employees for company-required training and as requested by department managers.
- Manage corporate recruiting activities, including collaborating with hiring managers to define staffing needs, drafting and updating job descriptions, posting roles, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and supporting managers through the selection process.
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure smooth employee experience partnering with hiring managers to ensure a smooth transition and engagement.
- Contribute to succession planning and mentorship program initiatives as assigned.
- Partner with managers to track and follow up on performance review cycles and developmental goals.
- Conduct training sessions on HR-related topics.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- 5+ years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work 5 days a week in-office
- Knowledge of multi state and federal laws, regulations and HR management practices.
- Proven experience managing benefits and payroll.
- Exceptional organizational and follow-up skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Proactive problem-solver with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- High learning aptitude and comfortable and adaptable in new situations.
- Strong commitment to outstanding customer service, with excellent planning, communication (written and verbal), and follow-up skills.
- Comfortable with exposure to the Leadership team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management abilities.
- Proficient in HRIS and HR technology platforms (PrismHR, Salesforce, Kronos, or similar)
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or other HR certification is a plus but not a requirement.
- Experience supporting a multi-state hybrid employee population.
- Spanish bilingual skills a plus.
