About the Role

The Human Resources Coordinator role is crucial to the success of our organization. Coordinators will provide the introduction to all drivers that are hired into Tower EV. They communicate the company culture and policies while ensuring interviewing, drive testing, onboarding documentation, and training are managed effectively. Coordinators bridge the gap between the recruitment team and the operations team to ensure driver experience is streamlined as they start with the company. Below is an overview of your responsibilities and other pertinent information.

Job Title: Human Resources Coordinator

Department: Human Resources

Reports to: Human Resources Manager

Hourly Rate: $20/hour

Key Responsibilities

  • New Hire Documentation
    • Take training conducted by the HR department to stay up to date on new-hire documents and company policies.
    • Stay up to date with labor laws that directly apply to Tower EV operations.
    • Apply effective interview tactics to all meetings with incoming candidates.
    • Keep a batch of new hire documents and tools ready for future training.
    • Work with the HR department to ensure both physical and electronic onboarding documents are stored/filed appropriately.
  • Interviews
    • Interview incoming candidates to assess their potential for working as a Professional Driver within the company.
    • Use interview tactics as directed by the company to ensure candidates align with business goals.
    • Create a welcoming interview environment.
    • Assess candidates for qualifications, driving experience, and relevant experience (e.g., Uber drivers).
    • Remain unbiased and focus on fit with Tower EV’s culture and operational needs.
  • Driving Evaluations
    • Be a safe driver with a clean driving record throughout employment.
    • Follow defensive driving techniques and traffic laws.
    • Teach potential drivers the usage of vehicle technology standards during driving evaluations.
    • Orient potential hires on drive evaluation scoring parameters.
    • Provide safe directions during the driving evaluation and coordinate with HR Leads to ensure tests occur after enrollment and interviews.
    • Maintain accurate reporting of all drive tests and file reports per HR guidance.
  • Trainings
    • Update training laptops software and prepare them for upcoming training.
    • Maintain a welcoming training environment and an engaging atmosphere for all trainees.
    • Submit training reports to appropriate departments.
    • Review processes to improve training workflow; conduct 8-hour training days with candidates to prepare them for their first shift as a Professional Driver.
    • Study slides to stay up to date with operational changes and relay them to new drivers.
    • Complete onboarding paperwork in Paylocity to fulfill HR duties.
  • Customer Service and Leadership
    • Maintain a positive attitude and assist drivers with app issues and questions regarding employment paperwork.
    • Communicate effectively and keep HR informed through the chain of command.

General Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to unpredictable situations.
  • Ability to interact with various team members daily.
  • Experience in Human Resources is preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Active driver’s license and approval on the company’s insurance.
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, listening).
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance as needed.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits are provided through Thatch’s ICHRA, starting on the 1st of the month following 90 days of employment.
  • Paid time off accrues weekly from the first week of work but cannot be used until after completing 90 days of employment. HR/Managerial approval required for using paid vacation.
  • $40 personal phone reimbursement eligibility, depending on position, issued monthly.

Communication Channels

  • Email assigned to you (Tower EV roles).
  • Dialpad for outward/inward calls by department.
  • Microsoft Teams for internal communication.

Technology

  • Stay updated on technology and use company tools effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Teams, Word, Excel).
  • Familiarity with Uber application and Paylocity (as applicable).
  • Ability to learn new apps and dashboards quickly and follow cybersecurity policies.

Additional Duties

  • Adhere to Tower policies as indicated in the Employee Handbook.
  • Work safely and effectively; perform duties as workload necessitates.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and communicate with the team and management about work topics.
  • Demonstrate time management, regular attendance, and productivity.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by Tower Mobility.

Additional Information

  • Employees must have reliable transportation to and from the workplace.
  • Schedules are malleable and may change; check with Management regarding changes.
  • This outline is not all-inclusive and may change at Tower Mobility’s discretion.
  • This job is at the 3800 N Mission Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90301 location.
  • Workweek is Monday–Friday with some Saturdays as needed; hours are 9:00 am–5:30 pm.
