The Human Resource Specialist will assist in the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department to support HR staff. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Duties/Responsibilities

  • Partners with HR staff to understand and execute the organization’s HR and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Facilitate employee onboarding and orientation and assist in the recruiting process.
  • Track new hires from background checks to the completion of their first week, collecting HR paperwork, creating and distributing various logins, and conducting a weekly New Hire Orientation
  • Answer routine inquiries from inside and outside the company on employment verifications, job openings and other general questions.
  • Update HRIS database and process paperwork for new hires, terminations, and other employee changes.
  • Assists in creating and maintaining the HR Department SOP’s and manuals.
  • Assists in training new HR staff as needed.
  • Create, maintain, and routinely audit personnel files for accuracy and adherence to established guidelines and requirements.
  • Assist with or prepare HR correspondence including employment verifications, annual notices, forms, and procedures.
  • Assist the HR department with various HR programs, procedures, research projects and any other special projects.
  • Assists with maintaining files, forms, and database information associated with personnel, benefits, employment resumes, application forms, and applicant flow logs and unemployment in Paycom, and other systems as required.
  • Works with training initiatives, continued training, performance feedback, and onboarding for employees as needed.
  • May be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Develops and maintains lines of communication with Operations Directors, Managers, and employees from an HR perspective.
  • Maintains knowledge and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Attends market meetings as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Basic knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Must have the ability to sit for long hours while working from a desktop computer, phone system, and various software programs
  • Must have ample dexterity to bend, reach, stretch, sit, stand, type, and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally travel between markets to assist HR personnel and management.

Education And Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associates degree or higher and a minimum of 3 years of experience working in Human Resources required.
  • Experience with Paycom is a plus!
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening, and Motor Vehicle Report.
