HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATION (IN-HR-IUINA)

Indiana University (IU) - Indianapolis Campus Human Resources is comprised of 30 plus human resources professionals. We work in conjunction with campus leadership and IU Human Resources to serve academic and/or administrative units on the IU Indianapolis Campus. Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Serves as the lead for all part-time employee hiring and assists with full-time employee recruitment.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions that come in the form of an email, phone call, instant messaging, or in-person.
  • Refers employment verification requests to payroll.
  • Processes unit eDocs according to university standards for students, staff, and hourly positions.
  • Initiates job postings, screens applicants, dispositions applicants, and initiates offers in online applicant system.
  • Provides recruitment resources to hiring managers (i.e. interview guides, reference check forms, offer letters, etc.).

General Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, processes, verifies, and maintains academic and/or staff HR related documentation, which may include recruitment, training, benefits, employee relations, performance evaluations, classifications, I-9s and employee leaves of absence.
  • Assists academic and/or staff HR team by researching information and answering academic and/or staff HR or policy relate questions.
  • Creates, compiles, prepares reports and documents for academic and/or staff HR related activities.
  • May work closely with other academic and/or staff HR functional areas.
  • Performs data entry for processing transactions and maintaining and keeping employee information current.
  • Provides administrative support to other academic and/or staff HR staff.
  • Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and documents.

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.

EDUCATION

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years administrative support preferably providing HR support using Microsoft Office suite products

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. $38,000.00-$40,000.00 based on experience
