The Forensic and Investigative Sciences (FIS) program at Indiana University (IU) Indianapolis is looking for a part-time administrative assistant to provide program support, handle clerical and organizational tasks, and ensure smooth daily operations.

Department-Specific Responsibilities Provide administrative support to the director including arranging meetings, handling the calendar, filing, handling communications, performing data management, etc. Schedule all FIS courses; work with the registrar, other departments, and School of Science Senior Operational Leader for Academic and Student Affairs. Serve as the main contact for all FIS communication by email and phone for admissions, recruiting, etc. Arrange and manage campus visits/recruitment activities. Manage FIS events, Board of Visitors (BoV) meetings, capstone poster session, internship session, program meetings, etc. Responsible for purchasing office, teaching, and laboratories supplies, and for FEPAC dues. Arrange FIS travel. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required

High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED) SKILLS

Excellent organizational skills Strong verbal communication and listening skills Effective interpersonal skills Maintains a high degree of professionalism Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information Working Conditions / Demands

This position requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without accommodation.

Additional Information

$15 - $18 per hour
