Overview

FBFK is a dynamic, full-service business law firm committed to becoming the most holistically successful legal services provider in the country. Guided by The FBFK Way, we are rapidly expanding with offices in Texas and California, serving business clients, their owners, employees, and families. Our culture is rooted in excellence, integrity, servant leadership, and joyful purpose. As we continue our growth journey, FBFK is building a people-first, high-performance culture that supports our attorneys and staff holistically and proactively. We are seeking exceptional HR professionals to help us lead the way.

Position Summary: FBFK is hiring a Senior Human Resources Generalist/HR Business Partner to partner closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer in delivering full-spectrum HR support across the firm. This individual will play a key role in recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, compliance, and day-to-day HR operations. This is not your average HR Generalist role. We are looking for a high-level, hands-on, resourceful HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about building great teams. This role is for someone who can own full-cycle recruiting and talent acquisition in-house while also contributing to strategic people initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts for attorneys, paralegals, legal secretaries, and operational staff across all offices.
  • Proactively source, screen, and manage pipelines of qualified candidates using creative strategies (LinkedIn, referrals, job boards, industry events).
  • Partner with the CHRO and leadership to forecast hiring needs and execute timely, strategic recruitment plans.
  • Ensure an exceptional candidate experience aligned with The FBFK Way.
  • Track, report, and analyze recruiting metrics and continuously improve hiring processes.
  • Eliminate the need for external recruiters by building strong internal recruitment capacity.
  • Support HR operations including employee relations, new hire onboarding, offboarding, policy administration, payroll, benefits, and HRIS maintenance.
  • Collaborate on initiatives related to performance management, employee development, and engagement.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employees on HR-related inquiries and support.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR procedures and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, including California and Texas.
  • Partner to the CHRO: Serve as a right-hand partner to the CHRO, contributing to the execution of HR strategies that align with firm goals.
  • Help build and sustain a culture of accountability, performance, and employee care across multiple office locations.
  • Support change management efforts as FBFK evolves and scales its infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with office managers and leaders across all FBFK locations.
  • Support recruitment and HR activities in Texas and California, with some travel expected.

Qualifications

  • 6–8 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a professional services or legal environment.
  • Proven success in full-cycle recruiting—this role must be able to source, attract, and close top talent without external recruiters.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices and employment law in California and Texas (required).
  • Ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment and take initiative without heavy oversight.
  • Experience supporting and coaching managers on employee relations and talent processes.
  • Excellent communication, judgment, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field required.
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or California-specific certification) preferred.
