Job Summary

The Human Resources (HR) Assistant will provide administrative support to the HR department and employees across all company locations. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to begin or grow a career in HR. The HR Assistant will handle routine HR tasks such as recruitment coordination, new hire onboarding, file maintenance, and employee event support, helping ensure smooth and efficient HR operations.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Post open positions on job boards and company career site.
  • Schedule interviews and communicate with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Assist with new hire paperwork and orientation logistics.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and HR records.
  • Answer routine employee questions regarding policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Provide general clerical support such as data entry, filing, and correspondence.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating employee events and recognition programs.
  • Help create simple communications (flyers, emails) for HR initiatives.
  • Support benefits enrollment and assist with employee changes/updates.
  • Prepare basic HR reports and spreadsheets as needed.
  • Assist with other HR projects and tasks assigned by the HR Manager.
  • Additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 1–2 years of HR, recruiting, or administrative experience (internships or office support experience a plus).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Providing information to supervisors, co-workers via telephone, written form, e-mail or in person.
  • The ability to meet strict deadlines or be able to communicate those that cannot be met.
  • Must follow all safety procedures and policies as mandated by B&B.
