BUSINESS ANALYST
Reporting to the FP&A Manager, the Business Analyst is instrumental in managing and executing MFR's corporate pricing strategy. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, such as financial modeling, pricing decision support, and handling retailer system submissions, all aimed at meeting our financial targets and aligning with company sales strategies. The position is key to achieving an optimal balance between product quality and cost while delivering exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial metrics, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and client Account Managers.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Partner with Account Management teams to manage costing and strategic sourcing initiatives for ongoing programs, special situations, and new business opportunities.
- Maintain and oversee data integrity within our enterprise-wide Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system and internal pricing tools.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify and implement improvements aimed at enhancing company efficiencies and achieving sustainable business results.
- Leverage business analytics to boost business intelligence.
- Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Account Manager to develop sales strategies that align with retailer and company financial goals, optimizing both sales and internal margins.
- Collaborate with internal and overseas teams to establish and communicate financial cost goals for products, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
- Deliver essential financial modeling and pricing support to Client Account Managers, enabling well-informed decision-making.
- Manage the retailer price-submission processes and communications related to product cost drivers, including HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) assignments and finalized Case Packs, ensuring accurate entry into retailer systems. Coordinate the product assortment negotiation process and manage retailer proposal submissions by interfacing with retailer systems.
- Conduct detailed reporting and analysis of financial metrics for items and programs, providing actionable insights to enhance business performance.
- Perform landed cost analysis, including HTS and alternative Cost of Production (COP) modeling, to ensure accurate cost assessments.
- Identify, analyze, interpret and communicate data to various audiences; Track, analyze and report results on a regular and ad-hoc basis.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 1-3 years’ experience in a multi-cycle retail environment.
- High level of financial acumen and costing expertise with meticulous attention to detail—Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
- Prior experience in enterprise-wide software, ideally Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and external stakeholders, demonstrating strong interpersonal awareness, clear communication, and comfort navigating shifting priorities.
- Results driven self-starter capable of analyzing situations to make thoughtful, effective, and timely decisions.
