Required Skills & Experience
- • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field required, coursework in basic statistics and data analysis desirable.
- • 5-10 years of experience working with business analytics, okay if some experience has been within data analytics.
- • Strong understanding of basic financial principles including budgeting and forecasting.
- • High proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and vlookup functions.
- • Working knowledge of process mapping and related software such as Visio or Lucid.
- • Proficiency in Mac Operating System.
- • Ideally, experience in industries like manufacturing, finance, warehouse fulfillment, retail, etc.
Job Description
The Business Analyst will collaborate with stakeholders across the company to gather and analyze data about operations, identify areas for improvement, and translate those into actionable plans. The role focuses on three key areas: Business Process Optimization, Business Software Optimization, and Data Management. This position is vital for supporting all operating teams to sustain rapid growth within desired profit margins.
Business Process Optimization: The analyst will understand existing processes, model them with flowcharts, and propose improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and value, presenting proposals to the Executive Team.
Business Software Optimization: The analyst will evaluate current enterprise software, identify areas for improvement, and recommend new software solutions as needed.
Data Management: Ownership of SQL databases for operational data, working with developers to expand functionality, and maintaining data integrity.
The Business Analyst will work closely with the Technology team to define process requirements for software initiatives and with the Finance team to coordinate funding and evaluate results.
Responsibilities include:
- • Analytical thinking and creativity: Asking relevant questions, interpreting complex data, identifying patterns, and root cause analysis.
- • Communication skills: Clearly and respectfully questioning processes, providing alternative solutions, and illustrating points with diagrams and spreadsheets.
- • Technical proficiency: Familiarity with data analysis tools, BI software, process mapping, and basic SQL.
- • Business acumen: Understanding manufacturing and sales operations, financial metrics, and industry trends.
- • Relationship management: Building strong stakeholder relationships collaboratively.
