Associate Business Analyst - US

Job Description:

As an Associate Business Analyst, you will contribute across multiple phases of the business consulting lifecycle. Your role involves gathering and analyzing business requirements, documenting functional specifications, supporting testing activities, and facilitating communication between business and technical teams. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business objectives and are delivered effectively across global delivery models. Additionally, you will assist in preparing demos, coordinating with offshore and onshore teams, and supporting post-deployment activities.

This position is based in Atlanta, GA. Travel may be required depending on project needs.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Collaborating with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements.
• Documenting business requirement documents, gap documents, user stories, process flows, and use cases to support development and testing teams.
• Supporting functional and user acceptance testing by preparing test scenarios, validating results, and tracking defects.
• Coordinating with offshore and onshore teams to ensure understanding of requirements and timely delivery of project milestones.
• Facilitating internal and client-facing demos to showcase solution progress and gather feedback.
• Managing issue logs, tracking progress, and ensuring timely resolution of queries and issues.
• Participating in solution design discussions with senior business analysts and technical teams, validating that business needs are accurately translated into technical specifications.
• Assisting in post-implementation activities including training, documentation updates, and performance monitoring.

Qualifications:

Basic:

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in business analysis or consulting roles.

Preferred:

• Experience working in product-based environments, preferably in life insurance and annuity platforms.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams across geographies, including near-shore and off-shore delivery models.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic query writing skills (select and join statements).
• Understanding of life insurance and annuity functional requirements, with ability to perform mathematical calculations for validation.
• Strong understanding of business process modeling, requirement gathering techniques, and documentation standards.
• Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and platforms like JIRA, Confluence, Visio.
• Experience in performing gap analysis and documenting requirements gaps.
• Ability to walkthrough documented requirements and gaps with stakeholders.
• LOMA certification (ALMI/FLMI) or working towards these certifications.
• Basic knowledge of design principles for developing custom solutions.
• Under the guidance of a business analyst, configure products and rates in policy administration systems.
