Overview: How you can make a difference As a Sr. Business Analyst on the HSA product team at HealthEquity, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our healthcare financial products. You'll transform business insights into actionable product strategies, collaborate across teams, and leverage AI and data to drive innovation. Your work will directly impact the financial well-being of our members and the strategic direction of our HSA offerings.
What you'll be doing Collaborate with product managers and product owners to define and deliver new or enhanced product features. Lead strategic initiatives by identifying business trends and opportunities, and translating them into actionable product strategies. Elicit, document, and validate business requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and data analysis. Leverage AI tools and techniques to enhance data research, automate query generation, and uncover insights that inform product decisions. Support the full software development lifecycle, including test planning, execution, and user acceptance testing. Conduct impact assessments, gap analyses, and root cause investigations for bugs and production issues. Serve as a subject matter expert on product capabilities, business processes, and healthcare financial accounts. Translate complex data into clear product recommendations and strategic insights. Participate in Agile ceremonies and help remove blockers for the SCRUM team. Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of business analysis best practices. Maintain clear and concise documentation of requirements, processes, and product knowledge.
What you will need to be successful Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Computer Science) or equivalent work experience. 5+ years of experience in business analysis, with a strong focus on data research, process modeling, and stakeholder engagement. Proficiency in SQL and experience with data querying and analysis using tools such as Databricks (preferred), Power BI, or similar platforms. Demonstrated experience using AI tools for data analysis, natural language query generation, predictive modeling, or business insight automation (e.g., ChatGPT, Power BI Copilot, Tableau AI). Experience with business process modeling tools such as BPMN, Lucidchart, or Microsoft Visio. Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including SAFe. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Exceptional communication skills-both written and verbal-with the ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language. Experience with healthcare financial accounts (HSA, HRA, FSA) and healthcare insurance is highly desirable. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment. A strong customer service orientation and a passion for improving user experiences. Professional certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or Agile-related credentials are a plus. Demonstrated ability to drive measurable improvements in product performance, operational efficiency, or customer satisfaction through data-driven insights.
