JOB SUMMARY - Helium Business Analyst
Provide support for the proper management of the NST/MTG container fleet. Support global Helium sales activities, data tracking, and analysis of distribution and sourcing costs. Assist in the monthly P&L and reporting processes.
Essential Functions
- Manage Nippon Sanso/Matheson container fleet:
- Utilize logistics data to improve container utilization modeling and planning.
- Monitor customer demand and supply chain logistics affecting container availability.
- Provide analysis and insights on helium container availability to Global Helium.
- Customer-facing activities and data tracking:
- Communicate price adjustments to customers.
- Notify customers about export regulations and compliance.
- Handle inquiries and complaints regarding invoices; act as the customer liaison.
- Distribution and sourcing cost analysis:
- Track transportation costs.
- Lead projects to improve transportation costs and efficiencies.
- Support analysis of fees and costs from various helium sources.
- Financial support and reporting:
- Track and verify source invoices.
- Coordinate with the Financial Group for accurate monthly sales reports.
- Provide data for monthly P&L review.
- Additional duties: Perform other tasks as assigned and ensure compliance with policies and standards.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred; experience in international shipping or related field is a plus.
Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years in logistics within the import/export transportation industry, including scheduling and load building.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work independently and in teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Availability to work Monday-Friday, 10-hour shifts, and attend after-hours calls as needed.
Licenses and Certifications
- IATA/International Air Transport Association (preferred).
- IMDG/International Maritime Dangerous Goods (preferred).
- Training provided if not already certified.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Includes occasional physical activity such as lifting, reaching, and standing, with constant communication and repetitive motions. Ability to meet physical demands as described.
Travel Requirements
Approximately 10% travel, including possible trips to the NJ office.
