Dental Assistant

Department: Dental

Location: St. Marys Campus

Hours Per Week: 40

Schedule: Monday-Friday, Days

Summary: As a Dental Assistant, your ability to anticipate needs, maintain a sterile office environment and keep accurate records greatly contributes to the success of the dentist and the satisfaction of the patient.

Responsibilities:

  • Dental Assistance. Prepare dental supplies necessary for each patient; anticipate dentist needs for instrumentation and materials during the procedural treatment on the patient; assist with x-rays, fillings and positioning suction tubes
  • Sterilization & Maintenance. Clean and sterilize all dental instruments following proper procedures
  • Documentation & Coordination. Maintain all patient records and update as necessary

Required Qualifications:

  • Dental Assisting experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for routine interaction with staff, patients and visitors

Physical Requirements: Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
