To keep the district's vehicles in safe, efficient operating condition with minimum interruption to educational programs and support services. General knowledge of automotive mechanics and related tools, both power and hand, preferred, must be able to lift sixty (60) pounds; must be able to gain access into engine compartments of all district vehicles.
Essential Job Functions:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of non-certified personnel.
Requirements:
Salary Schedule follows district Transportation Mechanic Schedule. Schedule will be 12 months a year, 40 hours a week, with paid vacation and holidays.

Essential Job Functions:
- Schedule, with input from the director, and maintain all general maintenance on district school buses and maintenance equipment. Such maintenance should include, but not be limited to; lubrication servicing, lights, seats, wipers, mirrors, and flats.
- Periodically check all fluid levels on buses.
- Repair and maintain automobiles, buses, tractors, and other equipment.
- Pre-trip and post-trip all vehicles used on trips that are not driven by transportation personnel.
- Assist in maintaining a systematic inventory of all parts received for bus and maintenance equipment
- Driving duties as assigned.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, orderly shop area.
- Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:
- Must have or obtain a passenger CDL in order to be able to drive a bus route.
