Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our team in Whippany, NJ. As a Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing packaging equipment, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. This role blends technical skill with production efficiency and quality assurance.

Ensure packaging lines are properly tooled and configured for optimal performance, setting the stage for smooth operations.

Responsibilities

• Line Setup & Tooling Mastery
• Process parameters: set and monitor in alignment with documented standards
• Mechanical troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maintain production flow
• Quality collaboration: work with Quality Assurance to resolve packaging-related quality concerns
• Efficiency & waste reduction: improve machine efficiency and reduce material waste
• Documentation & reporting: maintain accurate machine documentation for audits and continuous improvement
• Operator training: share expertise on equipment use, safety protocols, and best practices
• Regulatory compliance support: assist in upholding cGMP, DEA, and OSHA standards
• Safety leadership: ensure machinery and production lines meet safety requirements
• Line clearance authority: oversee line clearance procedures to maintain product integrity
• Automation & controls: apply knowledge of PLCs and automation to enhance functionality
• Equipment proficiency: operate and maintain inkjet printers, UV printers, blister packaging machines, bottle fillers, cartoners, and vision systems
• Continuous improvement: identify opportunities for process enhancements and equipment upgrades
• Cross-functional support: take on additional responsibilities as needed by the Director of Operations

Qualifications

• PLC troubleshooting skills
• Equipment troubleshooting and electrical schematics
• Mechanical assembly and troubleshooting of industrial automation equipment
• Excellent communication skills
• Blueprint reading

• Labeling systems (Zebra, Panther)
• Packaging machines (Körber)
• Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
