Mechanic
Position Impact
As a mechanic, your role is essential in helping the organization keep communities safe and clean.
You will perform maintenance and repairs on trucks according to factory and industry standards. The qualified candidate will run diagnostics on vehicles, communicate effectively, and collaborate with team members to meet company goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect vehicles, trailers, and equipment; run diagnostic tests; perform minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance, including inspections, tire rotations, and oil changes
- Understand and work with ABS systems, suspension, steering, leaks, wheel alignment and balancing, electrical systems
- Inspect and replace bearings, lights, brakes, coolant
- Maintain parts inventory and request purchase orders for needed parts
- Collaborate with team to diagnose vehicle issues and plan repairs
- Keep accurate records of repairs
- Coordinate with external repair shops
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
- Availability for weekend rotations
- Own mechanical tools
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- At least 2 years of experience, preferably as a diesel mechanic
- Valid Class B driver’s license required; Class A is a plus
- TWIC card preferred
- ASE Diesel Certification preferred
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to talk and hear regularly. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in confined spaces and at heights. Good interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and effective communication are required. Ability to read, write, perform mathematics, and wear personal protective equipment is necessary.
