Under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent, the Mechanic works in repairing and maintaining various gasoline and diesel-powered golf course maintenance equipment.
Responsibilities include:
- Communicating maintenance or repair needs.
- Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical defects in equipment such as trenchers, rollers, mowers, cart fleet, sprayers, and other mechanical tools.
- Prioritizing repair and maintenance work with the Superintendent.
- Effectively communicating with all levels of staff and external contacts.
- Training maintenance workers on preventative maintenance, cleaning, and safety procedures.
- Maintaining preventative maintenance schedules and repair records.
- Ensuring quality of cut on all equipment used on the golf course.
- Undertaking fabrication, welding, troubleshooting, and repairs to hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Maintaining inventory of parts.
- Inspecting equipment daily on and off the course.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Experience in equipment repair.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to repair and maintain all golf course equipment and respond effectively in emergencies.
- Maintain a clean work environment and cooperative relations with colleagues.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, walk, use hands, and lift up to 50 lbs.
