At North Sky Communications, LLC., as a Mechanic, you’ll perform preventative maintenance and repairs on various types of heavy construction equipment to ensure efficient operation. The mechanic is responsible for repairing and maintaining gasoline/diesel powered automotive and heavy equipment along with the individual components associated with the equipment.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair, and maintain diesel trucks and equipment ranging from a pickup truck to Class 8 vehicles.
- Repair and maintain all ground engaging equipment.
- Perform incidental welding operations on equipment.
- Maintain maintenance records for all equipment including service records, parts and repair costs, service schedules and inspections.
- Complete 8–10 repair orders per day including routine maintenance and oil changes on fleet.
- Perform 90-day inspections on equipment.
- Extensive travel between Fremont, Gilroy, Selma and Sacramento, CA yards.
What You’ll Need
- 18 years of age or older
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in automotive and heavy equipment maintenance/repair
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and safety focus
- Understanding of hazards and precautions in the trade
- Forklift certified
- Ability to understand oral and written instructions
- Ability to meet deadlines of equipment inspections
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Valid driver’s license (Class A preferred)
Physical Abilities & Exposures
- Routinely: Walk, bend, kneel, lift, and sit for extended periods; climb equipment; push, pull, reach, and carry objects up to 25 lbs; outdoors in varying weather
- Occasionally: Push, pull, reach, and carry objects up to 75 lbs; sit for extended driving
Salary Range
$30.00 - $40.00 / hour, depending on experience
